Government of Anguilla's Financial Registration Website Launched

On-line company incorporation came a step closer on July 1st with the launch of the Government of Anguilla's Financial website www.angillaoffshore.com.

The site, which will be used as a window to ACORN, carries full details of the on-line system, which amongst other things, will provide instant company formation and partnership registration services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The system is expected on stream in the fourth quarter of the year.

The site is particularly aimed at overseas professionals and professional firms, active in the offshore industry, and carries an invitation to apply for registration as an overseas agent with ACORN. Once approved, registered agents will have secure direct access to the Registry and will thus be able to carry out registration of Ordinary Companies, IBCs, LLCs and Limited Partnerships on behalf of their clients as well as being able to undertake all other related registry activities.

Interested parties should contact one of Anguilla's professional firms, full details of which are also to be found on the seb site, or the Financial Services Department of the Government of Anguilla.

In a statement issued by John Lawrence, Anguilla's Director of Financial Services, he explained that ACORN would not be a public access system and that overseas agents seeking to register would be subject to appropriate fit and proper tests. Mr. Lawrence also indicated that consideration was being given to providing financial incentives through the use of ACORN in order to attract the right professionals.
